How to connect
OpenTetra-Core is an open, worldwide TETRA core for amateur radio. Accounts are local to this core: your login is your DMR ID and your OpenTetra-Core account password.
- Register at Register (or /register) with your 7-digit DMR ID and your callsign as registered on RadioID.net (in capital letters), a password you choose (at least 8 characters) and the answer to a simple question. The account is approved immediately and all DMR IDs registered to your callsign on RadioID.net are imported.
- Configure your device with the settings below: host, port, TLS on or off, your ID and that password. Apps, SmartConnect and Hytera use your 7-digit DMR ID; only a Brew BaseStation may also use a 9-digit station ID (DMR ID + 2 digits).
- Manage your IDs and password under My account.
An ID that is already registered by another account cannot be added: contact the administrator.
Network identity
MCC 901 · MNC 6736
Program every radio and base station (CPS / codeplug) with MCC 901 and MNC 6736. A terminal with a different network identity will not register on OpenTetra-Core.
Why MCC 901
ITU-T E.212 reserves the country code 901 for international networks that do not belong to any single country. OpenTetra-Core is one worldwide network, so it uses the international code instead of a national one (for example 226 for Romania or 262 for Germany). Operators from every country share the same identity.
Why MNC 6736
On a phone keypad 6736 spells OPEN, the first word of OpenTetra-Core, so it is easy to remember and to type into a codeplug.

TETRA carries the MCC in 10 bits (0–1023) and the MNC in 14 bits (0–16383), so 901-6736 fits the standard. It is the identity of this amateur/experimental network, chosen by OpenTetra-Core, not an operator code assigned by the ITU. The core operator sets it once in core.toml ([core] mcc / mnc) and every protocol uses it.
Talkgroups
Any group (GSSI) from 1 to 999999 can be used. Pick a group with your peers and affiliate to it from the radio or client; it appears under Groups as soon as someone is attached.
Identity
- Radios, apps, SmartConnect and Hytera terminals use your 7-digit DMR ID as ISSI.
- A Brew BaseStation may log in with a 9-digit station ID (your DMR ID + 2 digits, 00–99, e.g. 226008201). These station IDs are covered by your account automatically; you do not need to add them.
- The country shown in the dashboard is derived from the first three digits of the DMR ID.
- Never reuse a password from another service here; choose a separate password for this core.
